i never said it was a good deal, but 5% is far the best u can get. and that is absolutely poor return.

aight roberto i like you bc u can laugh at yourself. this is what i would do.

Find yourself a bank that does not require a minimum amount or a fee to open a checking account. and only use it when u need to. everyone need a checking account, because this is where they get your funds for paypal and your credit card.

i would only deposit money when you need to. the rest u keep at home in a piggie bank. dont carry it with you, bc your gonna spend it. THe main thing is to find a checking acccount that does not have a minium requirement or a fee to keep/

once you have spare money and want to turn a profit. research your local market for what you can buy and sell. Fish tanks have a poor resale value, but car parts can sell easily and can be expensive. Main thing research, know what is popular and easy to sell and what is a good price to buy it.
The biggest profit in a while was the ps3. people buy it for 500, and sell them for 1000 on ebay. its all about supply and demand.

When you have a good product that you can buy and sell, open yourself a paypal account and ebay account. This is when you are gonna need a bank account so you can fund it. Buy it cheap and sell it to make money.

when i was 16 i baught an wrecked accord for 600, and sold the upholstry for 300, but i also had a bunch of parts to sell. and kept spare set of rims and tires.

He found a supplier that sells very cheap scrubbies and sell them for 2 dollars a pack.
i dont know how much he buy a pack for but guess but i think zen buy thems for around $1.50 a pack and sell them for $2.00. So he he make 50 cents on every pack that he sell. i recently baught 30 packs from him, 30 packs X .50 cents. So he made 15 bucks from me.

And yeah, I want NOTHING to do with computers, not as a living. I think I want to be a high school teacher. Maybe I could take over my school's AP Environmental Science class. AWESOME class.

Computers is also have bad return rates, in terms of resale value
also invest money in your education. that the most important thing in life.

personally, I would open a savings account in a credit union. My fiance works at one, and told me that they have higher interest savings acounts and that most savings acounts in credit unions have better interest rates. The only drawback is that most of them are privately insured...not FDIC...but with only 105 dollars I don't think you are risking a whole lot

NCUA is the regulator for CUs, they are a government entity and every bit, if not stronger than the FDIC.

Your money in a CU is insured up to $250,000 until 12/31/2009.

Many more banks are failing than CUs............

That is absolutely awesome. There is a massive shortage of science teachers across the country.

To those poo-pooing the idea of a bank account, it really isn't about the bank account. It's about developing the habit of saving. If I had saved 1/3 of every paycheck since I was 14, I would have enough to pay off my house and retire in 4 more years. I'm 32.

Meh, then people are just way too high strung where you come from. Around here, we know how to take and give a joke. We also let the other person know if they shouldn't joke around x subject. And then we respect that.
