its because people get rid of them when they've had enough of them breeding, people rarely give them chance to grow to there full potential = hump/LONG fins with trailers... shame really because there stunning once there a few years old
So true, I plan to keep mine until it dies. They both have a lot of personality, plus they give me free live food and from time to time I take the fastest growing to local stores. Mine have some impressive offspring... I kept a few from their last spawn to give to a friend and at about .75 of an inch, the one male is already showing a Nuchal Hump... But his dad has a nice one that has doubled in size since I got him.
would you say mine has good hump growth? i hope so i was hoping it was the last peice in confirming its male.... pretty sure it is, but this would outright proove it
