Good, or Bad Idea?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I've tried keeping multis and comps in the same tank and believe it or not, the multis punked the comps a little bit. Now granted, they were both small and growing out then (and cramped in a 20L), but it still made me laugh.

Like Willz said, I think a few fry may get picked off, but enough will survive given enough shells for them to hide in. You may hit some trouble *way* down the road when the comps get towards adult size and can eat adult occies, but this will take a really long time. Altolamps take forever to put on size.

You thought about smaller Cyps to chill up top? You could get away with it in a 75.

I have actually have considered them; I might go with leptosoma later on, but that depends on whether I get a 65g or a 75g the only thing halting the decision is the cost with a custom sump.

J_CP, congrats on the calvus. Here are some pics of my occies, and one of the calvus.

Thanks! & Very nice fish you have there, what kind of ocellatus are they?

Thanks, They are ocellatus blue zambia, their colors really pop out over the dark sand.

I see, the pictures show that very well :)

I have some 2" white calvus in with my gold occies and they don't bother each other. The occies just tend to bicker among themselves, same with the calvus.

That's pretty much what Im noticing so far. They don't fight too much, just some fin flaring followed by a 4" sprint.
