Just saw the other thread, and made the connection. Those lights will be fine for most of those plants, however, you should consider upgrading to a light that penetrates deeper than a PC.
no co2.i do use root tabs and flourish excel and flourish comprehensive.as for plant i have some amazons, java fern, round leaf, not sure what the real name is this is what it was listed as on my whole sale list.also a few plants thet i dont know the names of.
ya i was going to upgrade the lights but i also have 3 reef tanks that i run mh on and dont really want my electric bill to be any higher that it already is
The "round leaf" is anubias barteri v. 'round leaf'. In the middle back is narrow leaf ludwigia. Higher intensity lighting, doesn't mean you will pay more for electricity. Try out HO T5 bulbs, which you may want to try on your SW tanks as well.
i do have a 8x54w t5 hood at work that i could get and try it on my planted tank.as for my reef tanks i like the look and growth that i get with the mh.
That would be a good move switching to HO T5s. As to your saltwater, a combination of MH, VHO, and HO T5 will make your corals snap, and can make it so that you don't need as much wattage overall. HO T5's are very high in lumens.
