I recently set up a 10 gallon tank with mosquitofish (gambusia affinis) and a very large piece of driftwood. The gravel I used is not suitable for any rooted plants so I was thinking about trying to grow my plants off the driftwood. I will be dosing the tank as needed with Seachem Flourish afte3r I get some plants. I know you can attatch ferns and anubius to driftwood. Are there any other plants that will thrive while attatched to driftwood? There is about 3 watts per gallon of light in the tank.

Anubos or Java fern

Yep. I attach to rocks or wood with AC glue. Works great!

That bolbitus stuff looks really cool but can it be attatched to driftwood? Also is it usually available at an LFS or would I need to order it online?

I was doing some more research and I found out that the mosquitofish will eat their own fry and that the fry will need to be removed or have thick plant cover to survive. Unfortunately the java ferns and anubius have very large leaves that are not usually good hiding places, any ideas on what plants might make really good cover but can still be attatched to driftwood?

Had not thought of that :nilly: thanks for the idea I might try that.
