good pleco tankmates?

I have a 20" pleco and a 9" featherfin in my 180 gal tank. I am looking to get some other fish that won't bother my catfish. I know the pleco won't suck on them because I used to have blood parrots in there with them but they have been moved to my 90 gal. My LFS said silver dollars and 1 or 2 larger central American cichlids would be fine. Would this be a good setup? I just want to find some fish that will all get along for this community.
 
You have tons of options with those two fish. sd's would be good. i don't know a lot about CA cichlids but would image most would be fine. As long as you find fish large enough to not get bullied you should be good with tons of options. Maybe find some compatible syno's!
 
My plecos don't bully any fish.It's working for me..... I never saw pleco wanted to suck on fish.
 
So my LFS said I should do 8 or so silver dollars and some cory cats and after everyone settles in I could try some less aggressive African Cichlids. Does this sound like it would work?

African chiclids prefer hard ph and hard gh while most sa species prefer softer gh and more acidic water.
 
Do you know of any sa cichlids that are more docile? The only one I have is my 14" red devil and he is a huge jerk to anything he has ever been with, now he lives alone in my 90 gal.
