I would like to know if their are any good small bottom feeders. I got my wife a 25g hex tank w/ guppies and neons, but she likes to overfeed sometimes. Since she does that, a lot of flakes end up on the bottom and I was wondering if their are any fish that would eat the flakes off the bottom. Would cory cats work for it or some salt and pepper catfish?

Thank you. Emerald cories get a little too big, right? Since they are actually Brochis I believe. Do they have yoyo loaches at PetSmart or anything since I don't really have any different lfs around here. What about weather loaches even though they get bigger? I know my PetSmart has weather and kuhli loaches. I could move it to my 150 later on when needed.

if moving it to a 150 later is an option then you could go a lot of ways. Petsmart does carry smaller cories though, not just the Emerald which can grow quite big.

I would prefer something that would stay smaller, but if I have to move it, I could. I guess I'll have to drive up there and see what they have. Would some little shrimp work in the tank possibly?

yo yos are perfect. My petsmart carries them.

Alright, thanks man. I guess I'll have to go look. They might have always had them, but I never really look at the loaches.

I like corries more than yo yo loaches. I'd get them. I didn't think that the emeralds get "that" big. May be wrong of course.

yo-yo loaches stay relatively small compared to, say, clown loaches, but they can still get to 4-5" long . . . they can be very active, and do best in shoals of about 5 loaches

in other words, I think they are a poor choice for a 25G tank

that being said, a trio of corry cats should work just fine, and even a big emerald corry would still be smaller than a yo-yo loach
