I have a 12" iridescent shark i rescued from a 50 gal goldfish tank. I have him in a 135 gal with a 14" pleco. What could i put in with him.I know he will get to big eventualy for the 135 and i am prepared to move up accordingly.I value your imput and would appreciate as much imput as possible.Would 2 oscars work?

prettymuch anything that wont outgrow you tank, but since you're upgrading anyway.......
or anything that wont want to take a bite out of it.

IME irridesants are the most peaceable cats.

I too have a 11" id shark....love em! THey are peacefull. Mine is with 2-jack dempseys 1 texas 1 leporinus 1 fire eel 1 bichir. DOnt be suprised if he does not grow anymore... Sometimes there growth gets stunted from being in a small aquarium and they max out around 12-15"..

The oscars may be kind of iffy... those cats usually prefer more laid back tank mates as they can be very nervous. I know my oscars are very nippy with other tankmates (except my RTC.. who nips back)

Tinfoil barbs couple of regs and a couple of albinos. A10" lima shovelnose and a 3" flagtail prochilodus.

your flagtail might be toast since they grow slow and would probably fit into the mouth of your 12in beast.

more id sharks, they do great in groups of more than one. Good luck on getting another one to stay small. Never purposely stunt a fish so that it will fit in your aquarium though. Could lead to some major health issues down the road. I heard someone brag of keeping a 6 inch goldfish for 9 years, and everyone was amazed at how long it lived, but there are reports of a 13 inch goldfish living for over 40 years. Just an example, you're upgrading soon anyways, So good luck, and hopefully your fish isn't stunted. I'd love to see some pics of him in your future tank over the 30 inch mark!!! Keep us updated, and put some pics up!

I rescued this irridescent from a 55 gal tank . They had it for 1 1/2 yrs and got 2 of them at about 2".I would never intentionly put a fish in unhealthy situations or harm them in any way. That is why i am on these sites is to ask and learn before i purchase.I would not have an irridescent shark because they get large but i felt sorry for it and talked them into giving it to me for the my 135gal. I was going to trade off to someone but i have grown attached to it . I thought about 2 more sharks but my biggest tank is 200 gal and it would not be adaquit in the near future. The flag tail is 3" without tail. What do you think of my list of mates. 3 3"reg & 3 3" albino tinfoils , 1 3" flagtail ,10" lima shovel nose.Tank has 2 large fluval canisters.got them from a guy who had them on 200gal tanks.

Yea never stunt a fish on purpose! I purchased mine from a lfs that had mine in a 29 gallon and he is about 11". I had to take him in too! :)
From my experience that if they have been kept in a real small tank for long it stunts them though! Good luck with the fish!! PLEASE POST SOME PICTURES!
