Good tank mates for a GT and JD?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I say go for it. I have a similar stock in my 80 gal, 2 jd's, 1 gt2, 2 tiger oscars, and 1 red. And they all seem to get along great.

How big are they?

No oscar,You can barely keep one in a 75.Maybe a school of rainbows or other dither fish.Might go with a convict or other smaller sized cichlid that can hang with them.

Maybe for the moment but You are greatly overstocked when these fish are grown.1 grown oscar is max for this size tank.

How big are the j/d and g/t? If they are still small you could probably get away with a convict and salvini. You might also look into medium pikes around 10 inches for there max size saxatilis family would be best. I wouldent go with just one more cichlid though I would do 2 more medium guys. That way the g/t (if its a male) can spread the butt kicking around if he's decideds to go on rampage.

I have also heard stories of j/d and g/t not getting along sometimes because they look a lot alike so that's something else to watch out for. That's not to say they won't its just something to watch out for.

And no way on the oscar I wouldent feel right keeping a single adult in a 75. They get 16 inches.
