! Oh yeah, Bderick, the Silver Arowana I'd estimate just by looking... is about 32 inches.

Nice, gotta post pics though, that's the rule;) How old is it?

you could possibly go with a lima shovelnose cat or two, or some other large catfish that wont outgrow the tank but still not be aro food

if u are going to go bala or tin foil i think u should just get some fei feng thats what i would do

That would be a good idea other than the fact that fei fengs are much more expensive, and are very hard to find at a large size, a small one would get eaten by that Aro

Hi fellas, I think the Fei fengs are quite the attractive and exotic :) I like how their tail fins are striped orangey-red and black. Also their body is silvery and scaley. Sweet looking fish. I'll post up a picture later! :) What do you guys think about having 3 Fei fengs in the tank with also 1 Bala shark, and 1 Tinfoil barb to mix it up? Overstocked much? Lol

You're talking about schooling fish that would likely do best with larger numbers of their own species. So choose one and get at least six.

Ya you need at least 3 Bala's or Tin Foils, if you get only 1, you'll have a very stressed out fish

I think I'll be going with 6 Fei fengs. I found a source for 3, but they are unfortunately just 3 and a half inches... The problem is.. lol.. how do I go growing these guys without the aro drooling around in the tank? I was thinking maybe growing one in a 5-20 gallon with a lot of filters and media until it reaches maybe 5-6 inches maybe? And the others in the same idea?

If it were me I'd just get a 55g or similar tank, used and grow them out in that. Hell, your in SOCAL, I see a billion amazing deals on here daily that could work as a simple grow out tank. Don't use a 5-20g. I have a pair of tinfoil that school great with my Silver Dollars. I'd almost say they're growing as fast as my Oscar. a TAD slower, but fast.

Wow 6, these guys are supposed to get 15"+. I had two but there fighting drove the other fish in the tank nuts. Don't think the 20g is a good idea. I quarantined a 5" in a 20g for a few weeks, very nervous fish that needs alot of open swimming space.
