Good Tankmates for Acestros

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
acestro what? i have 7 falcirostris, with 4 rhapiodon vulpinis, 2 hydro scombs, 5 hydro tats, and 3 pink tail chalceus. Never a problem, so i would put similar species ace falcatus, ace altus, or some of the others i mentioned in there. also african pike and atf fish go well as long as they r similiar in size.

Vampire Tetras are the absolute best tank mates for all cudas on the planet, For some reason there company calms them down and makes them less skittish. Just pick up some Tat's or Scomb's and pop them in the tank.

Thats the "sabertooth barracuda" right? Kinda hard to find in california. Ive only seen them once. Ever heard of an african barracuda? Seen some in a lfs, looked interesting, also looked aggresive. will they work?

O! and i have 1 falcirostris, and this guy im not so sure

Your fish pictured is Ace. Falcutus which is better suited for 72 gal. As for tankmates any schoaling or non shoaling fish that is not overly aggressive and won't fit in his mouth or visa versa. My cohab is 2X Chaleus, Scomb, 2x Falc, Falciro, Brycon, whiptail cat, firemouth, BGK, nandus nandus however my tank is over twice your size.

im thinking microlepis perhaps. I have 2 of these in a 55. goldish body with a hard yellow lateral line. Also a faint black dot on gill plate. Give me a sec and i will post pics. sold to me as falcatus.

I was thinking the same thing after some research. I have had a few falcatus' in the past. The body and "facial structure" look a lil bit different. However after a week in my tank, this one is gettin a little red pigment in his tail fin. I'm no expert tho.
