Goofy Fire eel Hiding Places

Has anybody else had their fire eel create the most odd hiding places? My little guy has found his favorite spot inside my giant miramo ball- lol The ball is just a bit bigger than a softball, but he can manage to squeeze almost all the way inside!

its a huge moss ball- a bit bigger than a soft ball- and I'd say he is about 11 inches or so-

mine will hide vertically behind the black cord that runs into the tank for my digital termometer. Its kinda tight against the back so i think he likes it because it matches him and he can see over the whole tank without exerting any effort.

I have a piece of driftwood covered in java moss too and they like to burrow in it. Every now and then the loaches wedge themselves into it too.
