Apparently there are ways to do it with a VPN and stuff, there's a reddit thread explaining how to do it. Most of the chan sites and white supremacy type sites(not accurate description but can't think of a better term) are blocked by the telecommunications companies since a few days after the shooting.
I guess it won't be long until you will find out yourself that Australia is becoming a bit over governed these days, we call it "the nanny state"

Guess i’ll be getting myself a VPN then when i move there next year...

My daughter and son-in-law took their three kids to Australia to visit people they met who live there. I expected to hear all kinds of stories when they came back but I guess it wasn't as impressive as I expected

Not sure why people expect crazy stories from Aussie land (must be all the killer animals / insects)??? Unless you go out in the bush to grab some true aboriginal grub or see some more interesting sites, its pretty much like any other western country...

It's the media image here that you don't know you have.
I think it promotes tourism. ;)

Americans surely have this issue too. Remember, The Ugly American?

Globalisation has made most western countries very similar, you have Starbucks in New York and you have Starbucks in Melbourne. Most people here live in suburbia and go about their business. You have to travel very far to see the cliche outback Australia that most people imagine it's like here.

I am a big fan of Mighty Car Mods, and have seen near every show.
That's how I view the part of your culture I like most. ;)

Anyhow, when your kids travel half-way around the globe, you expect them to come home with some stories of far off oddities.

Most of their stories were about the horrors of travel. (4 adult-size females, 1/8 size bathrooms)

I did not hear the word wallaroo one time, and it was slightly disappointing.

Somebody hacked Elbonia* today.
The government was hacked.
Everybody lost their data to a crook.
Is this about crime or politics?
To me its about computer science.
And crime.

(*not a real country. If I say the name it could become political. A real country actually was hacked though.)
