I’m going to cut to the chase here I have a 9inch goonch living with a bosemani stingray 6 to 7 size and he has a scar on top of the fin it happens when I feed and as usual boesemani are crazy they attack first and then eat like a bully need some advice here on how to treat and how to house them I’m thinking of putting a Divider when feed so she don’t hurt my lil guy
0 ammonia
0 nitirite
10 nitrate
Any advice would be helpful thank you

Personally I would add rock cover that the Goonch can get under but the rays can’t. Then the Goonch can get out of the way whenever he wants and you can target feed him under there too. Will no doubt have to be sturdy but a Goonch in a bare tank is not a Goonch acting naturally.

I am not a ray keeper, so maybe I am dense but I only see a pink spot by the dorsal fin base. Is this some kind of injury from a ray attack?

yes the ray goes on top of him but only the bosemani ray does this type of bully behavior during feeding any other stingray doesnt do that you can watch the video on youtube the pitbull of stingray bosemani from stingray biology my rays acts like just like that and he started to bleed so i took him out and put him in a 30g long tank. use the same tank water and the sponge fiter and put stress ezme and stress coat from api should i use Epsom salt or aquarium salt ?? or leave it to heal

My shemale bully lol those marking was a birth defect from what I was told from the breeder nothing wrong to her health

Thanks for the advice will try that out once he heals hopefully no harm has been done to him also put the power head because I know they love surfing on the current which he does

If that nick by the dorsal the only damage, I'd side with kno4te: pristine water and observation. Usually something that small heals up quickly and problem free, if the fish is stress free otherwise.

Yea that’s the only place I have him in a hospital tank closely watch and I found these rocks going to find long flats one also and make some rock cave work for him to hide with some sand to him comfortable with the Stingray

Speaking from my experience with how well a clown loach (which goonch catfish are probably much hardier than) healed stab/scratch injuries from either pictus catfish stingers or other clown loach spikes, I agree with thebiggerthebetter and kno4te. Clean water and time will work wonders.
