Goonch catfish hurt

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That must feel awful. Is the catfish still alive or did the jump suffocate and kill it?

Yea he is gone I’m so sad I put him back in the tank I try to wilggy him but he was just floating back up I try to see if maybe he would move but it’s lifeless in the tank floating I knew I just had to throw him away after that before I start getting emotional

Sorry about the turn of events. It's likely no consolation but I've lost thousands of valuable fish. Like Dave says, please, be strong, learn and press on. We can't go through life cherry picking pleasures, successes, and smiles. Losses are a natural part of it.

BTW, your homework would have shown that it is pretty hard to raise a goonch to adulthood, way too many unknown, unpredictable, unexplainable deaths occur with them, seemingly across all species of goonch. People dispute this but the statistic is impossible to dismiss. One of a couple reasons I've never tried a goonch.

Would fully agree, over the years I have had four redtail catfish two of which were into double figures age wise and I have had five Goonch, none of which I have managed to get past 2 years or 2 ft ……
