Goonch catfish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The goonches you see in river monsters are at least half to three quarters of a century years old.

Thanks everyone I only asked because I've thought about getting one and was looking for some info about them before hand

Basically you could probably raise one in a 300 gallon for 5-10 years. No exact growth rates are known yet as they are relatively new to the hobby. We will see in 5 years how big Matt's (Estaregos) is and we will know more about them.

I dont necessarily think they grow slow ..... mine are like a year and a half old and got them at 7 inches and are now 23 and 26 inches, which is big! Only way you could get away with a smaller tank is because they are relatively stationary, except when hungry!, and therefor are not as room requiring as a fish that is conctantly swimming and turning all the time
