They are actually quite hard to acclimate when first taken out of the waters and then when first imported, however, after that they are quite hardy. The blood in the fins is absolutely normal after the fish is captured as you can imagine how much it will be jumping and hurting itself. After a few weeks in captivity, they heal right up. You should see the pics of how my giant Ageneiosus looked when they were first caught. They looked terrible and almost like they would die the very next day.
By the time Alberto sold them to me, they were in mint condition. I got 2 males at 14 inches each and 3 females at 24 inches each and none of them had a problem or a scratch.
I have purchased from Alberto before and nothing I have gotten from him has given me a problem. And if you want a list of stuff I have gotten from him over time, just ask me (PM me) and you will understand why I am making this statement.
