I'd go one of two routes:

1)Small tropical schooling fish. Maybe 2 schools. Then have one centerpiece fish such as a gourami or angelfish. Also, live plants would look great with some driftwood.

2)Cichlids. Lots of color and activity. Along with some nice rock hard scape it would look really nice.
