thats really funny because i got my 29 off the craigslist in atlanta. i never realized how many people know about it. i check it for updates every day. my roommate is picking up an aquaclear 20 gallon filter for me tomorrow that cost me $5 off craigslist. it will be a good addition to my 29 gallon with lower brand 30 gallon filter.
I got a 220g + stand and a 4'x3' sheet of 10mm laminated glass all for $160AU which works out to be prob just over $100US
The sump filter I made for it out a tank I found in a pile of rubbish and I found a 4' 2 x 150W MH and 2 x flourescent light in one pendant fixture for it complete with all globes for $250AU
in the next couple of weeks I am going to pick up 2 125 gal. tanks for $150 each. the catch is they were built in the 70's. i looked at them today and they were filled, so there are no leaks. they are also going to weigh about a ton. these tanks are going in my classroom.
i got all my bigger tanks from someone who had rented her basement to someone, and they moved out and left the tanks behind, with fish in them! she waited a long time for him to come back for them but after a year he still hadn't come back to get his tanks. all the fish died and the water evaporated out of them so i had quite a mess to clean up but in the end i got a 250 a 155 and a 55 with everything but water and fish for $300 i just happened to be in the right plac eat the right time
