Got a new boat!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I agree with the guy above saying don't do much. I'd save my money for another boat later on. Boats have a way of being very expensive to work on even for minor tweaks. With a Jon boat you could spend more "upgrading" it than the boat is actually worth.

Ya at this point im not looking to spend more than 500 on everything that goes into the boat. Im also looking to buy an outboard or talk to my stepdad about an outboard he has. But I dont think I will spend too much on everything. I have a $200 walmart gift card that I can buy all the deck screws, hinges, paint and primer, and just about anything else like that with. Other than that I dont think the wood and carpet will cost anywhere near $500. But this is all I can get for now and it will allow me to fish any local electric only reservoirs and lakes. Then I can throw on the outboard and hit the delaware or some larger lakes.

Don't forget to register it. That might cost more that you'd expect. also, if you fish in ny you'll need a few more things to be legal. Air horn, fire extinguisher(if you use an outboard), oar, life jackets ect. It's easy to spend a few hundred on just the boating extras.
