i went to devon with my dad last night, to get a female jag, a GOLD one so hopefully now i have more chance of xanthics or super gold fry:) the female is about 7" she has a bit of a split lower lip but i think this was caused in the box whilst bringing her home.

heres some pics, let me know what you think.

a quick shot of the male there aswel.

Gorgeous fish, but not to burst your bubble, they are BOTH normal females. They show this variation.
The "gold" Jags (Not Xanthic) are actually a base Bronze color - with none of the silver/white anywhere on the body.

its definatley not a normal one, ive not seen it anything like the colour of the other females ive kept yet, maybe its a different morph.

Just a shot in the dark - but both "types" are common here in the US, but possibly not in the UK?
The true gold jags look like a penny - (That is a little bit of an exaggeration, but not by much.)

yeh maybe, we dont get many jags over here anyway, and ive not seen another like it soo.

Now that you mention it - the all white/black ones are actually harder to find here. The majority of them have some gold sheen on them, like your female. Go figure.

Different bloodlines I am sure, rather than different variants.
