My dad recently finished a five year ground-up restoration of a 1954 Swallow Doretti, of which there were only ~350 made, and only around 50 left world-wide now. He did a big portion of the work himself too, which is why it took 5 years rather than paying someone to do it all in 5 months.

Not trying to be a dick or have a go at you, but rich people buying cars for penis-extensions really bug me. Go by a yacht or a painting or a billion dollar rollex.

My dad loves cars and recently sold his old business and started a new one land grading and he also has a coin laundry running right now

Cool, as I said, I wasn't aiming that comment at you really, just venting in general. I know people with expensive cars (M3 CSL) that get taken to the track and driven like they should be. I also know people who just buy expensive cars, read the manufacturers spec sheet and have endless conversations about who's got the most hp or the fastest 0-60 time or the biggest e-penis.
Personally, I'd rather have a beaten old civic that I wasn't afraid to drive the nuts off than an expensive exotic that I couldn't afford to repair if I crashed it at the track.

Agree! Drive that thing like it's meant to be driven or it ain't worth the 1/4 million. Same guy you try to talk cars with and they say "Huh?" "Oh yeah I think mines got that"
