Got a nightstand from Costco, tank overhangs a tiny bit due to a cutout in the wood. Ok or not?

Title says it all. I can't link to photos because this is my first post. I'm putting a 24 gallon cube rimless tank on it. It fits almost perfectly front to back but Costco had to troll me by cutting out a bit of an indent in the edge of the top panel for "style". The bottom is fully supported on all 4 corners and 3 sides but the middle of the front edge (probably 3/4 of the length of the tank) hangs off by no more than 1/8 of an inch (not even quite the thickness of the glass).

I know it's IDEAL to support rimless tanks on the whole bottom surface, and this is causing me all sorts of OCD and frustration (especially because last year's edition of this same product did not have the notch cut out.). Is this safe or does any amount of overhang completely trash the setup? I'm trying to convince myself this is OK because it's such a small amount and the corners are completely supported but the small floating edge is driving my insane.

I believe you can upload a picture to an image hosting site like photobucket.com, copy the link for message boards, and then paste it here inside the IMG tags like the example.

One solution would be to cut a sheet of plywood the same size as the footprint of the tank and put it under the tank on the stand.

Is the tank's front glass panel connected on top of the bottom panel or to the side, so the front panel is partially unsupported where there's no stand 3/4 across?

It's pretty freaking irritating because it would be perfect if they just gave me an eighth of an inch more wood in that carved indent. If this is going to be a big problem I'm probably just going to look for a new stand because the plywood solution looks bootlegged.

Ah man. That's so close! Since the front panel is fully suppoted by at least an inch at both ends, I'd think it would be fine. Actually, I just remembered ... I had a Fuval Edge for a couple years before getting rid of it. It was rimless and only supported by a block under the center. Either the front panel or the side panels were connected to the side of the bottom glass panel and it had no support anywhere under the front or side panels. So I see no reason why yours shouldn't be fine based on that.

if ur worried...throw down a piece of plywood underneath the tank to compensate for the gap. Could stain it to blend in with the rest of the stand. If not id say its prob fine being that close and fully supported on 3 sides and 4 corners.

Definitely safe, if I had to I wouldn't hesitate to run it like that. It would irritate me to no end though. Lol. I would get a nice piece of finish wood and replace the top to my liking.

Or screw a small filler wood strip the width of the tank to the back edge of the cabinet top and slide the tank toward the rear. You won't see it back there and can still see the nice profile of the front lip of the cabinet.
