Actually dude, if you get a razor or scalpel and cut away the infected skin so the nail can grow outside of it, this will solve your problem, if you can deal with the pain. That's pretty much what they do at the doctor. Maybe I'll start an "Ewurm Home Surgery Advice Thread."

i had re-curring ingrown big toe nails and i had to get the root beds laser burned out on the far right and left sides of the respective toes because when they just numbed my toes and cut them they'd eventually grow back. it smelled like hot dry dog food. no more problems though, and that was 12 years ago!
