got a rainbow wolf fish.

I threw a couple feeders in just to see if someone will eat but only the OB peacock is chasing them, but too big for him still.

The jack watched the feeder and it was one that the OB Peacock bit its tail so it can't even get away but nope, the jack doesn't even attempt to get him. The Frontosa took a couple attempts but didn't try hard and let it get away, Its almost halarious watching how disfuctional they seem to be acting.

Your wolf not going to die without food for few days or a week, I just starve it for few days and get it on prepare market food and stay away from feeder unless you QT your feeders, getting him eat live feeder is easy enough but get it on pellets or other diet would be harder.

So not always sometimes there are times of peace but the jack Dempsey occasionally will decide to float over and bother the wolf while it's laying on the bottom of the tank. The jack does this like once every few minutes and then will leave him alone. Then decide to do it again.

The wolf just gets up and swims away passively, then goes back.

Is this going to stress out the wolf fish to the point I will wake up and find him dead?

The wolf just sits there and does nothing and what the jack comes he moves away.

It's all depend on each own personality, some just ignore other unless other fish keep/trying to start a fight then it will fight back, some wolfs won't let anything near them and will flare to anything approach its spot/area. Your wolf would try to jump out of your tank if the Jack bother/tress it out enough but from your information its just slowly acclimating to new environment.

Looks like a red wolf! ery species is more aggro towards other wolves. for cichlids more defending unless there smaller. but every wolve/fish is different

Yeah well sometimes he floats bear the top of the Tank top fin almost out of water. I have weight on the lids.

My whole purpose for the 55g was for the wolf fish once I found him. Too bad He's an adult one, also seems like his mouth has some injurys maybe from hitting his face on tanks. I don't see any teeth in the front of his mouth But maybe 1 or 2.

I want him to be comfortable so he can settle and act like I was expecting.

He's still not really aggressive towards any fish. Even when the jack gets in his face he still acts passive and turns around and swims away.

I don't know if he has eaten anything yet since I've had him. I havefloating pellets for the cichlids and I did buy some sinking but I don't think he had any.

This type of fish needs live food? What besides feeders?

If you haven't seen it eat then it might be still stressed. Maybe can get a divider and split them up for a while. Try some tilapia as it usually works.

Wolf not a picky eater but if you want a sure answer you would have to contact the last owner and ask about it diet, some folks only feed their monster live feeders from juv to adult stage so its might take sometimes to get it on prepare food or pellets (That's a reason I refer buying juv fishes and let it adapt to my environment, another enjoyment to watch its grow/progression :)).
