got a Xingu (orange pike)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That smaller festae that the xingu had in his mouth died today. I thought she might make it.

The xingu is very curious, he was really checking out the suction tube of the siphon while I was doing water changes this evening, the spectabiles were all hiding. He is also begging for food as much as the spectabiles do.

is the just they juvi coloation or do they keep that color for life. i kept two for a short time when i first started keeping fish.

Sweet looking tank.....
I almost bought one at the Aquarium Adventure by me. I think they were about 12 bucks for the little orange dudes.
A friend bought one and it eats all the time, he's a looker..GL

Thanks Muske. They were 24 dollars at the Aquarium Adventure I went to.

toehead, this is my first Xingu, but I understand that the bright orange colors does indeed fade with age, and are replaced by more subdude but attractive colors.

I dunno, I think females turn out to be killer once they are adults...;)...more attractive than juv. Males are still just as attractive as well, just not as bright colors as the juv...;)
