Got algae?? New fish: HUGE PANAQUE!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
looks great

awesome pleco

Thanks all!! After a few days I can say it's really a great fish to have, I feed 2 times a day. In the morning some alge pellets and in the afternoon fresh veggy like courgette, cucumber etc. This is also because they can't process large amounts of food at one time. Only thing to watch out for is him eating to much non veggie foods (already found out this one loves shrimp and rainworms) because panaque's can't handle that kind of food, so I need to drop it in piece by piece to make shure it's eaten and the panaque doesn't have a chance to take it. But all worth it because he constantly moving around and very impressive to watch (a little bit territorial to the bichir, but no interest in sucking them what so ever).

Cheers Koen

what happens if they eat to much shrimp or similar ???

.

From what Haiko (Stiffmeister, the previous owner of this fish) told me he had it happen a couple of times (by accident) and that afterwards the fish was laying on his back with a swollen belly breathing heavily for a I believe about a week.
