The female that was killed was in another tank at the time with just the pair of oscars. The current setup has my pair of Xingu I, four tinfoil barbs, and one large male red devil. The barbs and the devil keep the male occupied most of the time. There isn't much real aggression shown toward the female.
Fishfobia: I'm not sure if your talking to me or corey. If me, no I don't have any full tank shots of how it was setup before. The tank is drastically different now. No plants, more wood, and terracotta strewn about. Here is a collage of the pikes from when it was just the two females, oscars, snooks, a channel cat, and the Paratilapia, it should give you an idea of how it was. Some pics are better then others due to different cameras.
If you'd like to know more, do a search for Xingu I. Mine are well documented in this forum.
corey ~ GORGEOUS female proteus!! Definitely a great pike-up for sure!! They are one of the smaller Saxatilis pikes, but definitely one of the more beautiful ones!! You definitely got lucky with this one!! I hope you are able to find a male for her! They are simply incredible in their breeding dress!
