  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
do most festae show such a lack of color or is it just that theyre new to the tank?

this isnt meant mean in anyway!

honest question guys
one of mine is in my avatar... thats just an example but mine all show dark bars and alot of red @ 2 inches

Dark substrate and stressed conditons can create the illusion that your fish had 'color'. True colors don't come out in festaes til they are 5, 6 inches.

I think its the hard alk water....

even though theyre CA's... my Moba fronts thrive it is as well

I honestly think when theyre adapted... the PH doesnt play as much of a factor as people think.... a well maintained tank is the key

I have no recourse except to keep my fish in hard water.... my oscars are thriving in this hard water... (Piglet my osacar is close to 1o inches now)

well mine do have color so I guess that theory is wrong

also Im sure the colors in the photo on my avatar are an "illusion"

I'll post more photos if you want and the substrate is a light pool filter sand

theyre from the same source that many members here have gotten them from
I cant deny mine are nice, but I also cant say theyre better quality then other members

i prefer my fish from mysterious sources. i like my fish like i like my box of chocolates.

His substrate sure isn't helping their coloration. Your darker setup darkens your fish up. Imo they look better now but when they get their real colors they'll look better on a lighter substrate. We'd love to see more pics though, how about a new thread???

i have 4 of them and they are all males :( i am now thinking of getting rid of them and doing another fish
