My friend from south america told me that back home he has seen them at 36" in the wild so they are monsters hehe. The 240g should be okay for almost 2
years , but you may need a larger tank after that.
I donated mine to a city aquarium when he got to 23".

mine have a nice sized private pond they will live out there days in :headbang2
