Very nice, my LFS has some Xingu 2's in im very tempted now.
Youd be crazy not to get these.Have you seen a femaleX2?!?!?!?!?!?! One of the best looking pikes IMO

And spizz....im not being pessamistic(sp?) i was just telling you the eventual outcome of your fish.Pesimisim(sp?) would be saying "why the hell did you get those?!?!" Instead,Optimism was used,as was trying to prevent the fish soup your adding ingredients too!!!And the X1's are the knives that finely chop those ingredients. All i can say is,when those things hit sexual maturity, that is gonna be THEIR TANK.On the off chance its a pair.So you have a 200+ gallon for the other Xingu when seperation is needed? No? So you mean you bought fish and will PROBABLY have to give them away? Knowing their potential i hope they stay with you,as Lugubris Pikes live a long time.

Good Luck.

Pessimism again. Don't worry about my tank sizes or the future of my fishroom.....Feel free to keep the good advice coming. I was 50% just playing with you pal....

I think you mean the females of xingu III...;). Crenicichla sp. 'xingu II' are one of the rarer xingus to get though, so if you getta chance, nail it.

I used to keep xingu II, they are very very cool pikes! Get some pictures up of them Bruce, chances are they might be something else...;)

BTW....here is a video of my dom. male xingu II and lenticulata going at it when I still had them. The xingu II is the one on the left....;) Just to give you an idea what adults can look like...;)

Regarding the aggression and dominating the tank, its possible, but there is a chance that they will all just grow up peacefully. I know several people who keep xingu I in a community set up quite easily. You don't have to have a 200 gal + tank for an adult either...125 to 150 would work fine. Anywho, congrats on the pike up Rico! Tell that long haired tatoo guy that you are onto him now! LOL!

:ROFL: Thanks PP! Did the owner used to have long hair? ....:ROFL::ROFL: I would die if he did.lol He is so conservative. Cool folks though, and they were just as happy as me to give them to me as they respect me a lot :) The larger one in the pics, with the red around his mouth is acting sluggish. Is the red normal at this size? If you look close it is around his mouth and all over his face...

Which LFS did you get them from? The mom and pops one, or the other one by the light in that 'minimall'? The one in the mini mall is the one that has that guy with the pony tail and the tattoos. Cool guy, always cut me deals...lol. They are the ones that you gotta walk by all the birds and animals to get to the fish section.

The red on the faces really shouldn't be there, almost looks like it might have been damaged or something. Don't sweat about it though, should be better in no time man. Up your aeriation if you are worried aboutz it! ;)

Was the guy named "Mike"? I got them from Aqua Tropics and the owner owns both places now. Thanks for the tip. I will up the aeration now and hope he does better. The second I un bagged him, he was swimming with yaw, and I observed him all night. He has way more "spunk" today and is not as lethargic as last night. :) again thx P_P :D
