he probably is going with the better safe than sorry approach. As a homeowner, I also end up overbuilding just to be safe. Its all about piece of mind.

I have had my share of great deals, and many decent deals. If I have a one-in-a-million deal, that doesn't make all of my previous deals "bad" all of a sudden.
Just b/c you made a better deal, doesn't mean he made a poor one.
Plus, you are ignoring the details. Sometimes a 125 gallon set up for $150 isn't a better deal than a 125 set up for $350. There are far too many variables involved to base the value of a purchase soley on price...especially when you are dealing with used items.
Personally, I would pay more for better condition, better equipment, etc.

I agree, you got a sweet deal; You never know with CL; I picked up my 260 acrylic with nothing included other than the scratched up tank and paid a guy in Oregon $ 350.00; Plus it was seven hour round trip drive; Now enough jabbertalking, get that thing supported and set up and throw in some monsters!
