GOT MY FIRST ARO!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
congratz on the pickup! first aro is soo cool!
i would try some mealworms and crickets. if mine doesnt eat those, im 100% sure he is filled to the max. do keep things varied cuz small aro's might develop a taste for crickets and dont try other things.

Thanks. DO keep things varied? or NOT keep them varied.

u might just have a "defective aro" not all aro's willl eat feeders at such a small size......i refer to thoes as defective aro's and i think u might have one...good luck fixin him!!!=)

nice pickup! the price is just about right!

if u got him on krill... ill suggest u make it as its staple food. Ull see how red its fin and scales grow. Of course a special treat of feeders, frogs or any food high in protein is not bad. gl with him!

AND YEAH....... WHERES THE PIC!!!!!! :nilly: :nilly: :nilly:

Crickets are good I heard. Are they high in protein?

I bought my baby silver this past October at about 6" or 7". It's now about 22 inches, and still growing! I can not stress enough how important it's going to be to get that fish in a bigger tank in a few months. Growth on young fish is amazing. I never thought it could grow that fast! Mine has never eaten live food. From day one I've fed it Hikari food sticks, Omega One pellets, frozen raw shrimp, frozen silversides, frozen krill, and yes even at 22", still loves frozen bloodworms that I feed other fish in the tank. I don't feed crickets. After I read a research paper on all the nasty bacteria that live on them, I don't want to mess with them. May not hurt the fish, but I don't want them in the house. Good luck. You must post pics when discussing new fish, so let's see them! :D
