Got my first ATF...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ur Chopmed tail is a VATF for sure..
U will see more features as it progresses..

And I would not keep them in two's
U will end up having a one eye jack soon..

But still they are fantastic tigers..
Enjoy the thrill of the hunt..

Great looking fish. I currently have goliaths, vitattus, and a brevis as well and from the pictures you look to have a BATF and a VATF. Very nice fish, the Brevis I have was my first tiger I acquired sold to me as a goliath. He has always been extremely skittish and grows very slowly but if you can grow him out for a year or two the striping and coloration that begins to come out is very impressive.
Good Luck!

Neither are GATF. I see one VATF and possibly two. GATF have a longer but blunter (squared off) snout. Where as VATF have a shorter but pointier one. Also GATF wont have horizontal striping or yellow tinting in the body. GATF will be just white/silver body color. As they get larger you will see other more pronounced differences also.

See this members vid of his GATF, you will see the difference.

i would agree, they dont look to be GATF, however as they get older it'll be easier to tell. I also agree with the one eyed jack comment, the first 2 Goliaths i had fought like dogs after a few months until 1's eyes got messed up from the others teeth, and then the other outgrew ... you could get lucky, but these fish nip at eachother, so a few are better than 2 cause it divides the action ... plus usually with 2 the nipping becomes chasing and beating as soon as one becomes submissive .... also i had huge problems in my tank all because i didnt have enough flow in the tank ... slime coat, and scale issues developed so i'd say current is a must ... they can always find a calm spot in the tank if they need to
