You have a better chance at getting it to eat prepared foods now since it's still small. Don't get it used to the feeders, or you will regret it in the long run. Blood worms is a great starter. They also love market shrimp cut into little pieces. Ime don't throw in all the food at once, just throw in piece by piece, and let it pounce on the food.

Live bloodworms is what I try to feed my dats. There is a southern cali blackworm buy that will be ordered today or tomorrow. May want to buy a pound of them to save you mucho bucks.

Yeah, mine hides a lot with the lights on, and most of the time when we are around. He doesn't loose his stripes or change any color wise. He just prefers to hide - he has sneeked to the other side of the tank and was watching me look for him.....smart little guy.

I have been hanging around the tank not paying attention to it to get him used to people, and not hounding the glass. Although the wife was at the glass, and he came zooming over to check her out and then left.

Bro mine does the same exact thing when the lights are on. Stays fully stable but hides and occasionally comes out for the 5 second cruise around. How do you feed your dat?
