I'll be bringing him in this winter and all winters to follow. Right now he'll be able to winter with the 4 koi and 2 goldfish in my 55 gallon tank, but once they all get bigger they'll have to winter over in a big rubbermaid tub. That's the plan at least.

Thanks have never heard of that type turtle . Yes ,the rubbermaid tubs are great but lots other stock tank companies which might make shapes that might suit your needs bit better .

A friend has the kiddie pool size 150 gall and seems more room as far as actual swimming area than most rubbermaids. Well made also.
I don't work for the co lol but find rubbermaid very limited as far as sizes for fish go as most not long/wide enough mostly height.

Heosemys grandis does indeed show allot of personality and its a very friendly turt species. Of all Heosemys is defenetly the most bold one.

Its strange. We only had him a week and accidentally found out that he would do it. Its almost as if he prefers eating that way.
