Got my JD & FMs!!

While I'm at it I thought maybe I would a couple pics of there tank mate "Jake", I've had him for a little over a year now. When I got him he was only about 6-7" long..now he is a little over 12" I think, haven't really measured him just a guesstamit.
Nope they just dont like Jake the Snake.....

I was wondering how fast they would grow. What are we all afraid of snakes here at MFK? LOL....he's really nice can't see real good, food can be right there in front of him and he'll swim around all crazy everywhere around it trying to find it...kinda funny really to watch him. Although once when I had him in with my Africans and had thrown a few earthworms int there for em all one of my zebra's had one hanging out of his mouth when he swam by Jake and Jake took off really fast after him and stole it, it was great!
african reed fish aka ropefish aka rope eel aka egyption reed eel. yes its a polypterid. bichirs rule! nice firemouths!!!! i just picked one up yesterday at the supposed "MFK meet". also...jack dempsey...I LOVE IT! i love jd's! been my fav. fish since i was a kid!fatherof5;1265461; said:

Thank you for the comments on my Firemouth and JD, the biggest FM is my fav. I think (well he is the biggest!) and my JD is starting to come out more, it's cool how his color changes so often. Not sure if that is good or bad, but he gets really dark at times and others fairly light.
nice fish, i have 4 firemouths and 2 jds, they are great fish and have great color. the jd will grow rather slow compared to the others. but they are awesome fish. the jd looks to be a male but not 100% sure.
