Got my new tank

Thats a bad**s tank buddy..... congrats... im sure gonna watch this thread.... have a quick question what paint u use? brushed it all the way or roller?
 
What kinda paint did u use for the back of the tank?

Used BEHR flat paint from Home Depot, nothing special lol.

Thanks man, I used a brush. I used a roller on my 240 and didn't really like it. Felt a lot easier brushing it.
 
If you can afford it, I would go acrylic. It's lighter and lasts a lifetime. The silicone on glass tanks lasts anywhere from 10-15 years on average. Just make sure you are getting thick enough acrylic so that it does not start bowing after several years of use.

I'm confused, I priced an 8x3x2 both ways and an acrylic tank was only pennies more. Was price the only reason you went with glass over acrylic? Also are you not running overflow boxes at all? Tank looks amazing by the way!

Acrylic tank this size would have been 4,000 in town and 3,300 in LA. I went with glass originally b/c it was 1450, then i got convinced to do the tempering which brought it to 1900. I don't plan on keeping this tank forever, next tank will be 10' x 5' x 3' acrylic. As for the lack of overflow boxes, dont really like them. I dont have any small fish and they would just take up space.
