Thanks! Learned so much from this site. Still not sure what caused the tank to crash originally, but knock on wood since then it’s literally been perfect and have had zero tank-deaths….only fish being eatenFirst of all such an interesting journal of your tank, so sorry about what has happened and the many tragedies. Keep the green terror and rehome the Oscar, he can be kept in your tank size and is the best option.
 . I’ve played with so many different filters, media, etc. etc. and really have it dialed. I do a 90% water change every 2-3 weeks and my nitrates are never above 15-20 which is when I change it. The all sponge media in the filter has been amazing and can literally go 2-3 months and it still is flowing great! That setup by far has kept nitrates down the most. I’ve really enjoyed it! Hate to see the Oscar go as I really enjoy him but I know it’s best. My LFS will gladly take him. Crazy the GT beat him up being less than half his size!
