U know .... Your ntts eat pellets right.. They will catch up.
Mmine only eats prawns and earth worms.

Could this be another one of those decisions I regret making?
This is a stunning Indo as was the one Jake took, never was sure if I had a favourite. Why did I let them go? Never really had the attachment to these that you get when you get a small fish and bring them on - yes Ade, like the monster Thinbar which you know I shouldn't have let you have!
This was kept in an 8x3x3 until very recently it was moved to the 6x30"x30" because the big tank has been changed to fast flowing temperate to grow on some other fish.
Water changes were 30% once a week in the 8 foot plus 20% usually mid week but this wasn't done every week, probably 3 out of 4. In the 6 foot I have a permanent flow of 200 litres a day through an HMA filter so no water changes necessary, just a regular vacuum of any debris and the level then gets topped up automatically. The 6 foot is also heavily planted.
Diet was massivore and whole giant prawns with shell on and sometimes Lancefish but they are getting harder to find in UK now. Massivore is great but I am convinced a varied diet is important to everything, not just humans. Feeding most days, sometimes twice a day. So long as your filtration can cope with it, fish will eat whenever the opportunity is there, that's how the farms in Singapore get some of the widebars to 24-30" within 3 to 5 years, just constant feeding with all the rejects.
Tankmates in the 6 foot was another Indo around 8 inch and a Hoplias aimara around 20 inch. This Indo is the only one I have ever known to eat another Indo, it took a 6 or 7 inch one. Yes, the tail was visible before being completely swallowed.
So yes, this one still has plenty of growing to do and I reckon you'll do it Steve. I'll be watching with great interest.
Who needs Widebars when an Indo looks as good as this? I actually prefer the shape/markings of the Indo now I've seen their true potential - and I have had Widebars too. I reckon there are going to be some stunning fish in a few years time with all the oddball markings around at the moment.

Fantastic post Andy,and great info for everyone,he will get a varied diet like you said,as do all my fish,il keep everyone posted on his growth and his tankmates,I love my RTG but when this dat was getting big and showing his potential I knew he was my favourite,so people can understand how hard it was to have to sell him and also how happy I am to have him back,cheers Andy I really appreciate you letting me have him .

One of the best looking tigers about. Even up there with the best ST.I watched your indo at Andys many times over the last year... And very nearly bought the other 18 incher that jake now has.... The tank looks fantastic. Really slick set up Steve... But I still have the trophy for biggest thinbar in UK at 13.5 inch. Lol[/QUO
I'm not that far behind you Ade. I measured my NTT tonight and hes a solid 12" nose to tail-not bad I think considering I got it around late summer 2009 @ 2" and its in a 100G. I'm feeding it massivore on a regular basis now (used to feed only couple times a week) so might get some extra growth but ultimately I realise it won't be great in such a small tank.
The move to Canada's on so there'll be no upgrade for me and I'll have to let it go at some point in the near future.
Would look like a Neon next to that beast of your Steve-I'll have to pop over some time to see the new set-up.
