piranha hit a wall around 5-7 inches and slow down drastically. I do not believe you can hit even the lower end of your spectrum in a year :irked:

10" in one year with reds with pellets as a staple diet :) and proper tank size + water quality

No wall at 5 inch

many people who keep piranha are novice aquarium/fish keepers so inadequate growth is to be expected with the breed . Piranha in there natural environment need to get big FAST :D Or they get ate by bigger fish , They are a food source in the river for bigger fish ;)

If you are advance aquarium keeper than 10"one year is plausible
and deff not a dream .

in a 180gallon i would say 5 Piranha and they will get big in that big ol tank

so 2 years browsing this site and only one person is claiming they got their reds to 10 inches in a year? either everyone's a crappy fish keeper, this guy got lucky or i've been feed bs the last 2 years.

hikari carnivore pellets thats all my guy will eat the home grown feeders will have to wait until hes done with the pellets then they get theirs. As for the SIZE From Fall till this post my largest red is about 7.5" ( so about 1.08" a month) and i have had the fish since they where about half a inch.

Great !!! If you do heavy water change + Clean filter pads frequent feed the hell out them reds with the PELLETS (use Hikari) they will grow 10 fold on any one elts P's who feeds live .

Feed only pellets 9 out of 10 times

With pellets your Piranha can go from dime size to 10"-12" In one year

--- the faster they grow the faster they die.. just my 2 cent ^^

my 15 out 22 of my rbp eat carnivore sinking pellets, from what i seen. they ate them right away and i got them at 1inch. but its not their staple diet. their staple diet is talipia/sole/haddock/bass in the morning, blood worms and shrimp in the evening, and shrimp at night. sometimes a few pellets as a late night snack.

Cool for you getting your rbps on pellets but all my rbp's ate pellets with no probs.

Master K, nice to see your beasly P's grown.
