I agree, they're still juves and won't show adult colors until at least 5". They actually do look like flowerhorn to me, but time will tell, and I trust Jeff.

I agree....they do look very flowerhornish due to all the pearling. The thing about the "juvenile fish not showing adult coloration" argument is that juvenile fish gain their color as they grow typically. these fish are showing pearling that real trimacs don't have...juvenile nor adult. Like thefishguy said, I too trust Jeff Rapps but those juvies are screaming FH to me. We'll just have to see how they look as they get bigger.

I have ordered a few trimacs several years ago from Jeff Rapps that were certainly pure and true, much different from these pics. I traded them to a friend, and my remaining two didn't make it. I would love to show pics, I didn't have a digital camera back then.

I hate getting in fights and arguments, and I'm not here to bring anyone down, that's not my thing. I love to order fish from TUIC, and plan to do so again in the future.

I just won't order trimacs from him anymore from what I've seen here.

by "they don't scream FH to most of you?" I meant, "don't they scream FH to most of you, because they do to me"

have you never seen any threads on here of there trimac's growing up?????? they change ALOT and i have seen trimacs from rapps which look like that as juvies and now as adult's they look pure trimacs to me.

No, they actually don't. Baby trimacs (and adult trimacs) have a distinctive yellow base colour. Baby flowerhorns are pearly and have red fins which trimacs lack - at that age at least.
