Btw, why would you take the tannins out? It may tan the water but good for the fish. Your tank is coming along nicely!

Damn it...did I do something that I shouldn't? Everything I read says to boil it. My purpose is to soften the water so I guess I defeated the purpose. Do I need to get more wood?

That's what I was thinking. I was going to keep it in a 5 gal bucket and add this good stuff in as needed but the wife dumped it. I'm learning guys.
