Got shipped the wrong fish..really wrong

I ordered silver Dats from the wholesaler and got shipped something that looks nothing like a dat. Upon further research and a call to the wholesaler for the latin name it appears I have been sent Lates Calcarifer...ooops....big difference..really big.

I have them on hold now. I usually dont order fish like these due to the size factor involved. The wholesaler is not interested in having them back so I am stuck with them.

Anybody have an unused swimming pool??
 
by any chance was this tfd? same thing happened to me, They said only way i can get a refund is if i ship the fish back.... shipping would be 50$ +...
 
that sucks

but lates are tight fish, youd be good with it for a year or so before it becomes a beast

This is a wholesaler out of Chicago.

What annoyed me was they said they knew it was wrong but were not going to change the name so a whole bunch of folks are gonna get a big surprise too.

You would think they would be more responsible with a big fish like this.
 
That does suck. Barramundi get huge fast. Too bad they won't take them back:(

I wonder if the could survive pretty cool water..........they'd make a nice fish for a small outdoor pond lol.
 
I dont know Rallyman, NE IN gets pretty chilly and these fish are from OZ arent they? I'm not sure if the big redtail cat wants company in his indoor pond either....but I wonder if it could be done..hmmmmmmmm
 
How do you confuse Barramundi and Datnioides?
