Why would this one be illegal in bc?
The northern one should be since it's lives in cold climates am survives the northern was cought in a lake in Burnaby bc
Fear and ignorance, SOME snakeheads can survive in BC, one did and was caught in a pond, that's enough to make them all bad in some peoples eyes. Not mine i own several species and will be getting more!
Not sure where it is now, was some time ago , probably can find it in a link n a google search, there was lot's of publicity on that northern they caught in a pond last year.
That's correct no ban in BC yet like i said. Ontario has been for, and as of April this year Quebec put a ban into place. BC has not done so YET but the northern snakehead caught last year in a park pond is exactly the sort of thing that triggers these ban's, I hope it doesn't go through but many importers/dealers seem to be sure it'll be in place by the fall which is what i had read some time ago as well.
But as i said, the laws arnt my concern... Do you have any experience with snakheads ? other fish ? large tanks ??
