That's really rare. They're always in hiding. I got one too and only sees him when I'm transfering him to other tanks!

Your fish looks exactly like mine, and mine hide all the time, and comes out immediately after lights out.
2 days ago he was sitting outside his cave and I thought nice photo opp, but before I could focus he was gone again...lol
He was my first monster, and I still think he looks mean!
