It does, but the biggest tank I've got at the moment is a 180g. And a 40cm fish is still a decent size.

The species we see sold in Australia as Salmon Tailed Catfish are Arius berneyi.

Most sources state that they max out at 40cm (16"), although I have seen some and owned some that were slightly larger than this.

They definitely exhibit a bit of shoaling behaviour as juveniles. This generally disappears with size. They do make great aquarium fish and are generally undemanding.
