After working in the industry, I can tell you even tiny little catfish can stick you and give you a nasty little "sting." I've had 1" corydoras stick me that made my hand sting for a good hour or more. Pictus cats? Forget it. Saw a coworker get stuck under the nail and he was a pretty tough dude, and I could tell he was in some serious pain.
Oh, and don't get me started on the sting ray accidents, haha, but that's a different topic.

Moral of the story: BE CAREFUL WITH CATFISH!

Lol, at a petsmart I went to get my first pictus the guy tried to get it with a net after I warned him not to, but he persisted. Of course the catfish got stuck and he tried to pull it out of the net with his hand, he got stung.

ive been told before when i get stabbed by a catfish's fin when fishing that the slime of the catfish helps ease the pain. ive tried it and it works, but other than the pain you shouldnt worry....

Youre gonna have to hack your arm off at the elbow. Use a small hachet or machete they will work best. Then you're gonna want to cauterize the wound so a blow tourch will work. If you dont bleed out over night you should be fine. Good luck Bro!
Just joking lol

Right decision going to the ED. Continue to watch for ss of cellulitis and sepsis: fever, redness, swelling, red streaking, shakes. Hopefully they gave you abx and did X Rays. My daughter was bit by an iguana and the ED did not perform X Rays . She developed cellulitis , due to a near translucent tooth being embeded close to the joint. The tooth had to be surgically removed under general anestheisa later on due to its proximity to nerves and ligaments. Keep a close eye on that wound. Elevate the extremity higher than your heart, hot packs 2 hrs on and 2 hrs off for the first day or 2, iburprophen 600-800 mg every 6 hrs for pain, and antibitoics. Make sure you follow up with your physician right a way if it is not looking and feeling better. these sort of things can get serious very quickly. Good luck.

man, i'm glad my redtail never stabbed me. I used to touch it and such a lot while feeding and doing water changes. worse that ever happened is that he tried to eat my hand.
