Sorry but leave the ray out of it. The stinger was not even attached to the ray anymore, you kinda stung yourself. :D

He still has a nother one. Yes i did sting myself:)

it's safer to go to the hospital, you don't know if there are any pieces of the barb still in the wound (the serrated teeth could have chipped off) as well as getting medication for the venom. hot water does neutralize the protein in the venom, but it's not going to do much if it gets into your bloodstream. that's what the antibiotics are for.

Could it be deadly - maybe a stupid question. Its been 15hours since i was stung.

For some people it could be, but you are not one of those, in that case you wouldnt have wroten here on MFK. If you have allergies to bees and such, it could be fatal, but you would get an emidiat reaction, and you havent in this case :) (That reaction is like your dieing).

That was saltwater and he didnt die from the venom, he died from the actual barb hitting his heart. Also he wasnt a fish keeper:)

For some the wound heals by itself. But I would advise getting an injection against infection and clean the wound. You must also be sure, no part of the barb was left inside. A sting from a small ray is about as deadly as bite from a chiwawa.
