I may have glanced too fast but am i seeing 2 drains and 4 returns with someone of the water cycling through the sump again instead of going through the tank?

Redid the valving. Gives me more pipe to break away for access.

And actually, I could just replace the black ball valve seen in the picture with another double union valve. I could just break that all away.

...aaaahhhh ; )

Look at a fluidized bed filter to hang on the back in case a sump fails or even a external cannister fails. Always have an airation source too separate. Redundancy is the key to prevention of catastrophic system failure.

My setup is completely fail proof. Sump has a 2" drain for my drip system. Even if the pump fails my sump will hold more than the backflowed water. I think im fail disaster proof anyway lol.

Well update:

Ran the pump, and I have 1 leak and 2 cracked bulkheads... frown. The leak is an easy fix, just need 2 new bulkheads for the returns.

I also called Dolphin today, and they said I can safely valve the pump back more than even half way. Their pumps have certain motors that sense the change and use less power.

Looks like I have some work to do, good news is I can keep my pump (for now anyway)
